What is Guardrails AI?
Guardrails AI is a Python framework that wraps calls to language models with guards that detect and handle risky inputs and outputs. It also helps get structured data back from LLMs, and is aimed at developers shipping LLM features to production.
Checks are built from validators, small reusable rules for a specific risk such as toxic language, leaked personal data or malformed output. You combine validators into input and output guards that sit between your app and the model and either fix, reject or flag a response.
Ready-made validators are published on Guardrails Hub, and Guardrails Server lets you run guards as a separate service. The documentation covers integrations with common LLM providers and frameworks, with tutorials and an API reference.
