Apple Natural Language
FreeApple framework for on-device text analysis in apps
What is Apple Natural Language?
Natural Language is Apple's developer framework for analyzing text inside iOS, macOS and other Apple platform apps. It identifies languages, splits text into words and sentences, tags parts of speech and named entities, and scores sentiment, all on the device.
Developers call it from Swift to process user text without sending it to a server. Built-in tools include language identification, tokenization, lemmatization, part-of-speech and entity tagging, sentiment scores and word or sentence embeddings for finding similar text.
Custom text classifiers and word taggers trained with Create ML can be loaded into the framework for app-specific tasks such as sorting support messages. It is free as part of Apple's SDKs.
