Alexa Skills Kit
FreeAmazon's toolkit for building voice apps that run on Alexa devices
What is Alexa Skills Kit?
The Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) is Amazon's set of APIs, tools and built-in voice interaction models for creating skills, the apps people use by talking to Alexa. Developers and brands use it to publish voice experiences for games, smart home control, education, music and more.
You define an interaction model of intents, sample utterances and slots, and Alexa's speech recognition and language understanding map what users say to your code. Skills are built in the Alexa Developer Console or with the ASK CLI and the Skill Management API, then go through certification before release.
Registration for a developer account is free. Amazon offers beginner workshops, personalized quality recommendations for published skills, and ways to earn money from skills, including Amazon Associates on Alexa.
