What is OpenAI Agents SDK?
The OpenAI Agents SDK is an open-source Python and TypeScript library for building agents with tools, handoffs between agents and guardrails. It is OpenAI's recommended path for developers building custom agents.
Agents are defined with instructions, tools and other agents they can hand off to. Guardrails validate inputs and outputs, sessions keep conversation memory, and built-in tracing shows every step. The SDK works with OpenAI models and other providers. OpenAI points users of its retiring Agent Builder to the SDK as the migration path.
