What is JetBrains Air?
JetBrains Air is an agentic development environment for handing coding tasks to several AI agents and running them in parallel. It ships with Junie, Codex, Claude Agent and Gemini CLI, and accepts other ACP-compatible agents. It entered public preview in March 2026.
Each task runs in its own workspace, locally or in Docker, and Air adds IntelliJ-powered navigation and diagnostics so agents get accurate code context. Teams can use JetBrains as the single provider through a JetBrains AI subscription, or connect their own agents and models. Admins control which agents are allowed.
