Freemium · $10/moGitHub's AI pair programmer for editors, CLI and pull requests
What is GitHub Copilot?
GitHub Copilot suggests code in your editor, answers questions in chat and can take on issues as a cloud coding agent that opens pull requests. It works in VS Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode and the terminal. Since June 2026 all plans use usage-based AI credits.
The free plan includes limited completions, chat and agent mode. Paid plans add more AI credits and access to premium models from OpenAI, Anthropic and Google. Copilot can review pull requests, explain failing Actions runs and work from issues you assign to it, all inside GitHub's permissions model.
