Hermes IDE
FreeDesktop console for running many coding agents side by side
What is Hermes IDE?
Hermes IDE is a vendor-neutral desktop app for running terminal coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode, Aider and Kiro CLI in parallel. Each task gets its own agent, terminal and Git branch, and one inbox shows which agents are waiting on you.
You describe a task in the launcher, pick the agent, account, model and approval mode, and Hermes starts it on a fresh branch with your task as the first prompt. Agents keep their own interface in their own terminal, and Hermes tracks whether each one is working, needs approval, asked a question, finished or failed.
Every turn's changes are recorded so you can diff or restore a single turn without touching the branch, then review and land the work with undo. Any command can be added as a custom agent. It is free and source-available under BSL 1.1 for macOS and Linux, with best-effort Windows support.
