Gitingest
FreeConverts a Git repository into a prompt-friendly text digest
What is Gitingest?
Gitingest turns any Git repository into a plain text digest with a summary, directory tree and file contents that can be pasted into an LLM. Replace hub with ingest in a GitHub URL to get the digest, or paste the repository link on the site.
Filters let you include or exclude paths and skip files above a size limit, such as 50 kB. Private repositories work with a personal access token, which the service says is used once for cloning and never stored, and cloned repos are deleted after processing.
Beyond the website, Gitingest is available as a Python package for local use and as a Chrome extension that adds a button to GitHub pages. The project is open source, has a community on Discord and publishes an llms.txt file for agents.
