cognee
FreemiumOpen-source memory layer for AI agents and teams
What is cognee?
cognee gives LLM agents persistent memory across sessions by combining graph, vector and relational retrieval over your data. It is open source and can run self-hosted, in Docker, on-prem or on Cognee Cloud.
Developers install the Python SDK, store context with a remember call and query it with recall, getting answers assembled from stored memories with citations. It can generate ontologies so agents follow an organization's domain rules, and it links facts across sessions in a knowledge graph.
Connectors for Slack, GitHub, Linear, Notion and Google Drive build a shared company knowledge base, and code indexing covers repositories. It plugs into Claude Code, Codex and other MCP clients, and enterprise plans add bi-temporal memory, provenance on answers and bring-your-own-cloud.
