Viam
FreemiumSoftware platform for building, deploying and running robots with AI
What is Viam?
Viam gives robotics teams one platform to connect hardware, collect data, train models and ship robot software, now built so coding agents can write and run skills safely. It targets developers going from a first prototype to large fleets of machines.
Each machine describes its own hardware and services at runtime, and arms, cameras and grippers share vendor-neutral APIs, so a skill written once can run on different hardware. Motion limits are enforced by the open-source viam-server below the agent, unsafe paths are refused and arms stop if the connection drops.
For deployment it pushes software, models and configuration over the air, offers remote teleoperation without SSH, and handles staged rollouts and monitoring across a fleet. SDKs exist for Python, Go, C++ and TypeScript, and skills, drivers and vision models can be shared through the Viam Registry.
