Tinker
PaidTraining API from Thinking Machines for fine-tuning open models
What is Tinker?
Tinker is a fine-tuning API from Thinking Machines Lab that lets researchers and developers train open-weight models without managing GPUs. You write the training loop in Python on your machine, and Tinker runs it on distributed clusters.
Tinker supports LoRA fine-tuning and reinforcement learning on dense and mixture-of-experts models from about 1 billion to over 1 trillion parameters. You keep control of data, algorithms and the resulting weights.
Usage is billed per million tokens processed, with prices set per model. Thinking Machines also uses Tinker to let enterprises customize its own open-weight models.
