What is LlamaChat?
LlamaChat is a free, open-source macOS app that lets you chat with LLaMA, Alpaca and GPT4All models running on your own Mac. It can import model checkpoints and converted files, and it runs on Intel and Apple Silicon.
The app imports raw PyTorch checkpoints published for these models, or pre-converted ggml files, so you do not need to convert them by hand. It builds on the open-source llama.cpp and llama.swift libraries, and the project lists Vicuna support as coming soon.
It requires macOS 13 and can be installed by direct download or with Homebrew. The latest version shown is 1.2.0, and the copyright notice dates from 2023, so it covers the early generation of local models rather than newer ones.
