What is Kimi Code?
Kimi Code is Moonshot AI's coding agent, running on its Kimi K3 model family with up to a 1M-token context window. It writes and edits code, reads and searches your repository, and runs tests and builds to check its own work.
The same agent is available as a macOS desktop app, a command-line tool and IDE plugins including a VS Code extension, and sessions are organized by project. It can implement features, fix bugs, refactor, execute shell commands and look things up on the web or read a page while it works.
Access comes with a Kimi membership, which also unlocks the other Kimi features such as Deep Research, slides, documents and the website builder. The Kimi API platform separately lists integrations for using Kimi models inside Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode.
