What is Janitor AI?
Janitor AI is a browser-based platform for chatting with more than a million community-built AI characters, aimed strictly at adults. It includes a free in-house model and lets users plug in API keys from providers such as OpenAI, DeepSeek or OpenRouter.
Characters are shared publicly with tags, greetings and personality definitions, and users can create their own. The free JanitorLLM model has a limited context window, so many users connect an external model through a proxy for longer memory.
The janitor+ subscription adds better memory and, since July 2026, the janitor+ Router, which runs third-party models inside Janitor and bills per token without a separate API key.
