What is IntelliBar?
IntelliBar is a native Mac app for chatting with models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, xAI, Perplexity and others, plus local models through Ollama. You pay once for a license and pay model providers directly for usage, with no subscription to IntelliBar itself.
It is built around the keyboard: a command menu, instant search through past chats, prompt autocomplete and slash-command shortcuts for saved instructions such as replying in Spanish or keeping answers brief. You can send one prompt to several models and compare their replies side by side, and use it to rewrite text from other apps.
Chat history is stored on your Mac rather than in a cloud account, and requests go straight to the chosen provider with no intermediary server. For sensitive questions you can switch to a local model so nothing leaves the machine. The developer says the app is funded only by users, with no ads or investors.
