What is HUAWEI HiAI?
HUAWEI HiAI lets app developers use the AI hardware and models built into Huawei phones and tablets. It is organised in three layers covering chip-level NPU acceleration, ready-made app capabilities and service connections.
CANN handles the chip layer, converting and migrating existing models so they run with NPU acceleration, and a model zoo offers NPU-friendly architectures. HiAI Engine provides app-level functions such as document skew correction and image analysis, and HiAI Service connects apps to Huawei services.
Because inference runs on the device, apps keep working offline and user data doesn't have to be uploaded. Integration and usage are free, and the HMS Toolkit plugin speeds up setup and offers free remote access to test devices.
