Amazon Bedrock is AWS's managed service for using foundation models from Anthropic, Amazon, Meta, Mistral, DeepSeek and others through one API. It suits companies already on AWS that want private model access, guardrails and agents inside their cloud account.
Bedrock adds knowledge bases for retrieval, guardrails for content filtering, model evaluation, fine-tuning for some models and AgentCore for running agents in production. Data stays within the customer's AWS region.
Pricing is per token on demand, with batch discounts and provisioned throughput for steady workloads. It integrates with IAM, CloudWatch and other AWS services.
