FreeSelf-hosted MCP server that keeps AI agents fed with current docs
What is ContextMCP?
ContextMCP indexes documentation from your repositories and other sources and serves it to AI agents over MCP. It is an open-source, self-hosted option for teams that found hosted doc services such as Context7 going stale.
You add a config.yaml listing sources such as GitHub repositories and their parsers, and ContextMCP handles parsing, chunking and indexing on a schedule so answers stay current. Its parsers follow code blocks and headings, so a function is not split across chunks the way plain text chunking can do.
The server runs on Cloudflare Workers for low latency, and you keep control of your data because you host it yourself. It was built by the engineering team at Dodo Payments to power their Sentra agent, and the matching chat interface is open source as ContextChat.
