Axolotl
FreeOpen-source framework for fine-tuning LLMs from YAML configs
What is Axolotl?
Axolotl is an open-source tool for fine-tuning language models using a single YAML configuration file. It supports full fine-tuning, LoRA, QLoRA and preference training across many model families, and is widely used by open-model researchers.
Configs describe the base model, datasets, training method and hardware settings, so runs are easy to reproduce and share. It supports multi-GPU and multi-node training with DeepSpeed and FSDP.
Axolotl is free to use, and many cloud GPU providers offer ready-made templates for it. Example configs exist for most popular open models, so a first run can start from a working recipe.
