Appian is a low-code platform for designing, automating and orchestrating business processes across people, systems and AI agents. Large enterprises and government agencies use it for case management, onboarding and compliance-heavy workflows.

Processes are modeled visually and combine forms, rules, integrations, RPA and AI skills that classify or extract data from documents. Agent Studio lets teams build AI agents that carry out steps inside these processes under defined guardrails.

A data fabric layer gives apps a unified view of data across systems without moving it, and process mining shows where work slows down. Appian is used heavily in financial services, insurance and the public sector.
