What is AiCam?
AiCam is an Apple app that reuses an old iPhone, iPad or Mac as a home security camera. Detection of people, pets, vehicles and sounds runs on the device itself, so it records only when something relevant happens and needs no account.
You choose which triggers start a recording: image recognition for humans, dogs, cats, birds, bears and vehicles, sound recognition for things like a crying baby, barking, a siren or breaking glass, plus plain motion and noise sensitivity. Each saved clip shows what set it off and which camera caught it, and you can filter events by date or trigger.
Another Apple device on the same iCloud account can open a live view and talk back through the camera. Footage stays on the device or in your own iCloud, recordings go up to 4K, and Siri, Shortcuts and per-event webhooks let it hook into IFTTT, Zapier or smart home setups. A local network mode streams only over Wi-Fi, and RTMP can push the feed to YouTube or Twitch.
