withoutBG
FreemiumBackground removal as a cloud API, self-hosted model or open weights
What is withoutBG?
withoutBG removes image backgrounds through a managed Pro API, a self-hosted Pro model, or a free Apache-2.0 open-weight model. The Pro model is tuned for hair, fur and complex edges, and is aimed at developers and businesses processing images at scale.
The Pro API runs on managed infrastructure in Frankfurt and is paid per image through credit packs or a monthly subscription. The self-hosted Pro model runs on your own CPU servers without a GPU for a one-off fee, and the open model installs with Docker or pip and runs offline with unlimited processing.
A Refine tool fixes cutouts with two brushes, one to keep areas that were wrongly removed and one to drop extras, after which edges are refined again. The site also provides docs, sample results, comparisons, datasets and a showcase for car photos.
