Midjourney turns written prompts into detailed images through its web app and Discord bot. It is used by illustrators, designers and hobbyists who want striking art direction, and it supports style references and character references to keep a look consistent.

You type a prompt in the web editor or Discord, get a grid of four images, then upscale, vary or edit the ones you like. Parameters control aspect ratio, stylization and how closely the model follows references, and the editor supports inpainting and canvas extension.

Plans are sold as blocks of fast GPU time, and higher tiers add unlimited relaxed generations and a stealth mode that keeps images out of the public gallery. The same subscription also covers short image-to-video animations.
