What is Vapi?
Vapi gives developers the infrastructure to run phone and web voice agents for support, lead qualification and appointment booking. You choose the transcriber, language model and voice, and Vapi handles orchestration, telephony and real-time monitoring.
Agents are configured through the API or dashboard, covering voice, conversation flow, telephony and integrations, and calls can run over Vapi telephony, SIP, WebSockets, WebRTC, Twilio, Vonage or Telnyx. Call analytics show what works and where conversations fail, so teams can keep improving prompts.
Billing is per minute: you pay the providers' rates for transcription (such as Deepgram), the model (such as OpenAI) and the voice (such as ElevenLabs), plus Vapi's hosting fee. New accounts get $5 in credits, and optional success packages add phone numbers, concurrency, data retention, zero data retention and SLAs.
