What is Pi?
Pi is a conversational AI from Inflection AI designed to be warm and supportive rather than task-focused. People use it to think out loud, vent, practice hard conversations or get gentle advice, by text or with its natural-sounding voice.
Pi keeps answers short and asks follow-up questions, which makes conversations feel more like talking with a friend than querying a tool. It works on the web and mobile apps and can speak replies aloud in several voices.
Most of Inflection's original team moved to Microsoft in 2024, but Pi stayed online and free. In 2026 Inflection started new consumer experiments around it, such as guided conversations for life transitions.
