Grok is the chat assistant from SpaceX's AI division, formerly xAI, available on the web, mobile apps and inside X. It pulls in real-time posts from X along with web results, and it can generate images and short videos.
Grok offers fast and reasoning modes, DeepSearch for multi-source research, voice chat and character companions. It also reads uploaded documents and images, and Grok Imagine handles image and video generation.
Since October 2026, new customers subscribe through The X Subscription, which bundles Grok, the Cursor code editor and X Premium perks in Plus, Premium, Super and Ultra tiers. A free tier with lower limits remains.
