LocalAI
FreeSelf-hosted, OpenAI-compatible API for local text, image and audio models
What is LocalAI?
LocalAI is an open-source, self-hosted replacement for the OpenAI API that runs language, image, audio and embedding models on your own hardware. It is aimed at developers who want a drop-in local backend without sending data to the cloud.
LocalAI wraps several backends such as llama.cpp, vLLM, diffusers and whisper behind one OpenAI-compatible API, and runs on CPUs or GPUs via Docker. A model gallery installs models with one command.
Related projects add agents and memory on top of the API. LocalAI is free under the MIT license and maintained by Ettore Di Giacinto and community contributors.
