Jupyter AI

Jupyter AI is an official Project Jupyter extension that adds a chat assistant and AI magics to JupyterLab and notebooks. Data scientists use it to generate code, explain errors and ask questions about files with the model of their choice.

A chat panel can read selected cells or files and suggest code, and the %%ai magic runs prompts directly in notebook cells. It supports many providers, including local models through Ollama. Because it runs inside your own Jupyter environment, data stays local unless you choose a hosted model.
