What is Fluid?
Fluid is a Mac app that runs Meta’s Llama 3 locally, so chats and voice dictation stay on your computer and work offline. A separate private API server is offered to businesses.
You open it from anywhere with Control and Space, type or dictate a question, and press Escape to stop an answer. By default it shows the latest answer, with a history view available on demand.
It requires macOS 14 or later and an Apple Silicon Mac, plus roughly 4.9 GB or 8.6 GB of free disk space depending on the model. The app is sandboxed, updates itself and does not ask for an admin password.
