Cloud TPU
PaidGoogle's custom AI accelerators for training and serving models
What is Cloud TPU?
Cloud TPU rents Google's Tensor Processing Units, the chips behind Gemini, for training, fine-tuning and serving large models. It is aimed at ML teams that need large-scale compute for frontier training, inference or agent workloads on Google Cloud.
TPUs support PyTorch and JAX natively and the vLLM engine for fast inference, and deployments can be managed and scaled with Google Kubernetes Engine. Generations on offer include Ironwood, Trillium, v5p and v5e, plus older v4, v3 and v2 pods and devices.
Billing is per chip-hour and varies by region. On-demand rates sit alongside cheaper Dynamic Workload Scheduler options and one- or three-year commitments. New Google Cloud customers get free credits, and larger buyers can request quota and a custom quote from sales.
