Azure Video Indexer
Free trialMicrosoft service that extracts searchable insights from video and audio
What is Azure Video Indexer?
Azure Video Indexer is a Microsoft cloud service that analyses video and audio files to pull out transcripts, faces, objects, on-screen text, topics and scenes. Developers and media teams use the resulting metadata for search, captions, moderation and recommendations.
On the visual side it detects faces, people and clothing, labels objects, reads on-screen text with OCR, finds keyframes and splits footage into shots and scenes. Celebrity and custom face identification are available under limited access, and it can flag inappropriate visual content.
For audio it transcribes speech, detects the spoken language, recognises sounds such as laughter or clapping, and produces captions in WebVTT, TTML or SRT with translation into more than 40 languages. Results can be embedded through widgets or pulled through its APIs into your own apps.
