What is Amazon Textract?
Amazon Textract reads scanned documents and PDFs and returns printed text, handwriting, form fields and tables as structured data. Teams use it to automate document processing such as invoices, IDs, loan packages and receipts.
The basic Detect Document Text API returns words and lines, while Analyze Document adds key-value pairs from forms, tables, layout, signatures and answers to questions you ask about a page through Queries. Specialized APIs handle expenses such as invoices and receipts, identity documents and mortgage lending files.
Charges are per page and depend on the features used, with lower rates after the first million pages a month. A free tier gives up to 1,000 pages of text detection and 100 pages of the richer analysis features each month.
