Znote
FreeLocal Markdown notes with built-in AI and runnable code blocks
What is Znote?
Znote is a free, offline Markdown editor that works on your own .md files. You can ask an AI about your notes, run code blocks inline, connect tools such as GitHub, Postgres and Slack through MCP, and keep everything in git.
Typing @ picks which notes the AI should read, and answers land inline in the note you are writing. Custom slash commands such as /brainstorm and /rewrite are themselves markdown files you can edit.
A JavaScript code block turns into a small tool: query a database, call an API or parse a CSV, and the chart or table renders in the note. The app needs no account, and the maker is a single indie developer.
