What is Workday Adaptive Planning?
Workday Adaptive Planning, formerly Adaptive Insights, is a cloud planning tool for finance teams that handles budgeting, forecasting, scenario modeling and reporting. It brings finance, workforce and operational data into one model and adds AI-driven forecasting to speed up planning cycles.
Finance staff build plans in a spreadsheet-like grid, then run what-if scenarios across revenue, headcount and expenses and roll them into management reports and dashboards. Department heads can contribute their own numbers without passing workbooks around by email.
Workday bought Adaptive Insights in 2018 and now sells it alongside its HR and financial management suites, along with Sana-branded AI agents for finance and HR. It connects to other ERP and data sources as well as Workday's own systems, and pricing is quoted through sales.
