What is VOCALOID?
VOCALOID is Yamaha's long-running singing synthesis software, and VOCALOID6 uses the VOCALOID:AI engine to produce more natural, expressive sung vocals from notes and lyrics. Composers and producers use it for lead and backing vocals, especially in Japanese pop and anime-style music.
The editor runs standalone or as a plugin, and VOCALOID:AI voices can sing in Japanese, English and Chinese. Vocal2Tune converts a recorded vocal into editable notes. A mobile editor for iPhone and iPad is available by subscription, and Yamaha has announced VOCALOID7.
