What is Vast.ai?
Vast.ai is a GPU rental marketplace where independent hosts and data centers offer GPUs at market prices. Researchers, hobbyists and startups use it to get cheap compute for fine-tuning, image generation and running models.
You filter offers by GPU type, price, reliability and location, then launch Docker-based instances with templates for tools like PyTorch, ComfyUI and vLLM. Interruptible instances are cheaper but can be stopped.
Serverless autoscaling endpoints are also available for inference, and a secure cloud tier offers data-center hosts with stronger guarantees. Billing is per second from prepaid credits.
