Shortkey
FreemiumChat-based file assistant that converts, compresses and edits files
What is Shortkey?
Shortkey lets you upload images, videos, PDFs, audio or ZIP files and describe in plain words what you want done, such as removing backgrounds, compressing files or translating subtitles. It chains real tools behind a chat so non-technical users can process files in batches.
Requests can combine several steps, for example extracting a ZIP of product photos, removing every background, compressing each image under a size limit and returning a new ZIP. Follow-up messages refine the result in the same conversation.
Behind the chat it uses FFmpeg, OpenAI Whisper, Sharp, LibreOffice and frontier AI models for tasks like transcription, upscaling, PDF merging, CSV to JSON and video to GIF. Files can be up to 500 MB, and the free tier includes 200 credits each month.
