ReadCube
Free trial · $10/moReference manager with an AI assistant for papers and patents
What is ReadCube?
ReadCube helps researchers discover, read, annotate, organize and cite literature, now with an AI assistant that answers questions from your library and large paper and patent databases. It replaces the Papers app, whose Pro tier became ReadCube Plus.
The AI assistant gives answers linked to the exact source passage, can chat with one paper or compare up to 20, and turns plain-language requests into structured searches. An AI access indicator shows whether a publisher allows AI use on each paper.
Libraries use tags, custom fields and smart lists, PDFs can be annotated directly, and SmartCite handles citations. Saved searches add new papers automatically with daily, weekly or monthly alerts, and enterprise plans include document delivery and systematic review tools.
