What is Onshape?
Onshape is a CAD system that runs in the browser and on mobile devices, combining 3D part and assembly modeling with product data management. Mechanical design teams use it to model, version and release products without managing files locally.
Parts, assemblies, drawings, sheet metal and surfacing live in one cloud document, with branching, merging and release management for tracking design changes. Several people can work in the same model at once, and add-ons cover simulation, CAM, rendering and PCB design.
AI shows up in two places on the site: an AI Advisor for getting help inside the product, and AI-assisted customization for building your own CAD features. A free plan exists for non-commercial work, and students and educators get a separate education plan at no cost.
