Lugs.ai

Lugs.ai is a desktop app that captions and transcribes audio playing on your computer and speech picked up by your microphone, all on the device. It was built by people with hearing loss for following conversations, calls and videos.

Because the speech model runs locally, Lugs works without an internet connection and nothing is streamed to the cloud. You plug in a microphone to get subtitles for an in-person conversation, or let it caption meetings and media playing through the computer.

The app follows the context of a conversation to improve accuracy, and buyers get lifetime updates. A macOS download is offered first, with other platforms listed separately, and the product is still marked as early access.
