What is Goodlookup?
Goodlookup is a Google Sheets add-on that adds a lookup function able to match text by meaning, not just spelling. It works like VLOOKUP or INDEX MATCH and suits topic clustering, record linking and cleaning messy names across data sources.
Classic fuzzy matching compares characters, so it misses synonyms and related concepts. Goodlookup uses a pre-trained language model to link strings such as a nickname to a full name, or a player to the sport, and shows a score for how strong each match is.
You subscribe, install it from the Google Workspace Marketplace and enable it from the Extensions menu, after which the function is available in any sheet. It is sold as a single yearly subscription.
