What is ego (lite)?
ego (lite) is a browser that AI coding agents such as Claude Code and Codex can drive to scrape sites and complete web tasks, including pages behind a login. It is free and needs no setup, and many tasks can run at the same time.
An add-on skill called ego-browser connects any agent on your computer, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Kiro, Hermes Agent and OpenClaw. The agent starts already logged in, works in its own Space so it doesn't take over the window you are using, and can read the full page. Your browser data stays on your machine.
The makers publish an open benchmark of real-world web tasks comparing ego-browser with Playwright, Chrome DevTools and other agent browser tools on speed, success rate and cost per task. An enterprise offering is available for larger teams.
