Deep Nostalgia
FreemiumMyHeritage feature that animates faces in old family photos
What is Deep Nostalgia?
Deep Nostalgia is a MyHeritage photo feature that turns a face in a still picture into a short, realistic video in which the person moves, blinks and smiles. Genealogy fans use it to bring old family portraits to life.
You upload a photo to MyHeritage, and the deep learning model detects each face and applies one of several pre-recorded motion sequences to it. Older or blurry photos are usually enhanced first so the animation looks cleaner, and results can be downloaded or shared.
It sits next to MyHeritage's other AI photo tools, including colorization, photo enhancement and LiveMemory, and the company's family tree, records search and DNA services. A few animations are free, and heavier use comes with a MyHeritage subscription.
