ContextWire
FreemiumSearch and answer API that gives AI apps sourced facts from 100+ engines
What is ContextWire?
ContextWire is a research API for AI applications that queries web, news, academic and wiki sources and returns an answer with citations. Developers use it to ground chatbots and agents, and it can be added to Claude Code or Cursor as an MCP server.
One endpoint runs the full loop: it searches Google and Bing through SearXNG plus more than 100 other engines, reads full pages when snippets fall short, and uses a language model to pull out a precise answer. Academic lookups cover CrossRef, arXiv, Semantic Scholar, PubMed and OpenAlex, and there is direct access to Wikipedia and many game and media wikis.
The MCP server exposes ask, search, extract, research and batch search tools. The team also runs demo products on the same API, including an answer engine, a fact checker that returns true, false or mixed verdicts, and a deep research report generator.
