Cleverbot
FreemiumLong-running chatbot that learns its replies from past conversations
What is Cleverbot?
Cleverbot is a free web chatbot that has been running since 2006 and picks its replies by comparing your conversation with millions of earlier ones. Its creator, Rollo Carpenter, began the learning software in 1988, and what users say today can shape what it says to others later.
Signing in lets you adjust how the bot responds in three different ways, keep several conversations, switch between them and pick one back up on another device. You can also clip funny exchanges as snips, publish them, and rate or reply to snips from other people.
Cleverbot took part in public Turing test events, where it was judged 59 percent human in one test. There is an iOS app with the full AI and multiple conversations, and developers can build their own bots on its technology. The free site uses chat data for ads.
