AudioStellar
FreeOpen-source sampler that maps your sound library with machine learning
What is AudioStellar?
AudioStellar is a free, open-source experimental sampler that analyses a folder of audio samples and places them on a 2D map by how they sound. Musicians and sound artists then play and sequence the map instead of browsing files in a list.
After you load a set of samples, the software extracts audio features and uses dimensionality reduction to cluster similar sounds near each other. You can trigger sounds by clicking or with play modes that move across the map, which makes it suited to live performance and sound exploration.
It runs as a desktop application and can be controlled from other music software and hardware through MIDI and OSC. Because it is open source, the code can be studied and changed, and it is often used in experimental music and academic sound projects.
