Ada Health

Ada is a symptom assessment app that asks questions about how you feel and suggests possible conditions and what level of care to seek. It was built by doctors and engineers in Berlin and is also licensed to health systems and insurers as a digital front door.

Users describe a symptom such as a headache or rash, and Ada asks follow-up questions much like a clinician would, then produces a report listing likely causes and whether to self-care, see a doctor or seek urgent help. Reports can be shared with a clinician, and assessments can be done for a child or another person.

The consumer app is free, while Ada Health licenses its clinical AI to hospitals, payers and pharmaceutical companies. A 2026 study in NEJM AI with a Portuguese hospital group found patients using Ada made better decisions about where to seek care.
